Sigur, the sort-of central character of Sampo, the randomcyberpunkepic (see [link]) that I started playing with a couple of weeks ago. I felt bad about not touching it for a while after having written out pages and pages of backstory in one exhaustive burst of energy, so took a break from digital-painting something to start on the series of portraits I wanted to do. Unfortunately, in addition to the scanner having et it, as usual I didn't bother to trace it to watercolor paper, so there are buckle-marks all over that I barely even tried to fix. In general it's kind of eh, but I didn't really care so long as I got his face right.

The thingles on his neck are tattoos, though I don't think he really has them there.

Prerequisite story babble: Dreamer, druggie, and something else that starts with a dr-, Sigur, aka Eldritch, is a medium, possessing an innate ability to connect to and navigate the Tree that forms the electronic hub of the city. Though not intentionally cruel - usually - he has very little regard for the feelings of others, whether from incomprehension or a lack of interest. Outwardly flighty and oblique, he is, at his core, very coldly practical, though his ends are so obscure that his ruthlessness is rarely evident. And for once, there is a reason he looks so girly.

Watercolor, pencil, colored pencil, and some half-hearted touchup in Photoshop. I had fun with the gold paint for his jacket and stuff. ; Uh... three-four hours?
